When the day finally arrived for Samantha and Jimmy’s wedding we truly believe their families couldn't have waited a moment longer. The best part is, neither could they! Traveling back in time to their years spent, faces in books, barely being able to look up because as you can imagine going to medical school at Yale University is serious business. This absolutely made-for-each-other couple spent a gorgeous sunny day at the end of May bearing witness to what can happen when you do glance up and discover the one you love looking back at you.
Their wedding day began in Burnaby at Samantha’s parents’ home. The feelings surrounding the bride were a delightful mix of nerves, anticipation and more hairspray. But truly, she was enveloped by all her bridesmaids and family with warm smiles and encouragement. When Jimmy arrived to pick Samantha up he had to literally “prove his worth” to his beloved by first participating in some Chinese door games. This tradition involves all the lovely bridesmaids who got to have fun with Jimmy by having him perform a few tasks before he earned the right to climb up the spiral staircase to see Samantha for the first time. Everyone cheered when he made it and the way she beamed so bright when they saw each other was worth every silly task Jimmy took on to get there.
After the formal tea ceremony was performed Samantha retreated to her room to change into what can only be described as the most stunning gown. She appeared like a vision straight out of a dream, Jimmy hadn't seen her yet; he was facing away. With a soft tap on his shoulder to signal a turn, he saw her there and when you think about the moments you’re going to look back on and smile, this would be one of them. She was a sight to behold!
The bride’s brother, Jeffrey, couldn't let his sister go without one last “lift” to the limo piggyback style. Then onto Stanley Park; we proceeded along the seawall towards the infamous lighthouse and rose garden. Now it was finally time for the ceremony to begin. Here comes the bride, from beautiful BC to meet her handsome groom all the way from sunny Arizona. Our pleasure to watch unfold. The true spirit of love surrounded everyone on the day of Samantha and Jimmy’s nuptials. Their ceremony was held high above Vancouver’s city and harbour at Hycroft, now home to the University Women’s Club of Vancouver. Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Tooley took the Four Seasons Hotel by storm for their reception! It was an artistic, nostalgic trip down global friends and family mix lane. So much to celebrate on this adorable couples wedding day! Wishing you both all the best at Standford University and every happiness in the years to come.
